We are looking for a quality driven Sous Chef to join our team at Zén in Singapore.  

Zén is the sister restaurant to 3-Michelin star Frantzén in Stockholm. The tasting menu is carefully curated and based on both local and world-class delicacies. Guest can expect the finest ingredients sourced from the region and beyond. The gastronomic experience spans three floors in a classic shophouse building in downtown Singapore. 


The role

As Senior Sous Chef, you will be working closely with the executive chef to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen. As well as be involved in the training and development of the junior chefs in the brigade, motivating the team and leading by example. 

You will also be responsible for all stock control, financial discipline within the kitchen, waste control and ensuring that all hygiene requirements are met to the highest standards. You would be involved in the menu planning as well as be involved in training the junior chefs in the brigade.


The successful candidate should have

  • 2 years plus of experience as a Sous Chef
  • 2 years plus Michelin star restaurant experience 
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • BS degree in Culinary science or related certificate would be a plus
  • Self-Motivated
  • Creative Problem-Solving Skills
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
